Since the summer it has become very quiet on our website. As announced last time we are on a big tour of Austria with our motorcycles. Together with a couple of friends, we traveled almost 4,000 km in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Our travel report will soon be ready under the heading “Tours & Travel”.
School started again for us in September. The situation with COVID-19 not only affects our travels, but also very much everyday school life with the children.
Martin bought a KTM 350 EXC-F built in 2016 in August. He wanted to ride motocross and enduro with it in the autumn.
On Friday, October 9th, 2020, Martin fell while training on the motocross track: braked before the bend and dismounted. He injured his left hand. As a precaution, the ambulance and the emergency doctor were alerted. They decided to have the injury checked up at the hospital. After an X-ray examination as well as CT and ultrasound diagnosis a fracture in the wrist was found. This was operated on immediately and fastened with a plate and several screws.
After three days of inpatient stay, he was released from the hospital. Two weeks after the operation, the sutures were removed and he started occupational therapy.
Meanwhile Verena’s injury is also doing very well again. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our planned trip to Lake Garda for mid-October due to Martin’s injury. Due to the COVID and travel situation mentioned above, we would probably have had to cancel the trip anyway.
Our BMWs are therefore already in hibernation. We will keep you updated regularly in the coming weeks and months and update the website with new travel reports and information.
Until then, best regards and stay healthy;)
